The Chairman received an application from the Metropolitan Police Service before this afternoon's evidence session. The application concerned a request for reporting restrictions. 

Following submissions from Counsel for the Metropolitan Police Service and representations from other legal representatives, the Chairman heard the application in a closed session. Legal Representatives for the Bereaved, Survivors and Resident core  participants were present in this session as was a reporter of the Press Association. 

The provisional schedule for the first phase of the Inquiry’s work has been updated with details and timings for the remainder of the programme. As with the previous schedules, the programme below remains subject to change.

The Inquiry has previously shared a provisional programme for the first phase of the hearings, which will be held at Holborn Bars, 138-142 Holborn, London, EC1N 2SW.

Timings

Opening statements will start on Monday 4 June and run from 10.00-16:30. There will be a security check so we recommend arriving in sufficient time.

The Inquiry is committed to ensuring all witnesses are able to give their evidence to the Inquiry and fully appreciates this may be a harrowing and traumatic experience. To help facilitate the process of evidence-taking, the Inquiry has published a protocol which details the approach it will take to support vulnerable witnesses.
