The Chairman received an application from the Metropolitan Police Service regarding reporting restrictions.
The Chairman received an application from the Metropolitan Police Service before this afternoon's evidence session. The application concerned a request for reporting restrictions.
Following submissions from Counsel for the Metropolitan Police Service and representations from other legal representatives, the Chairman heard the application in a closed session. Legal Representatives for the Bereaved, Survivors and Resident core participants were present in this session as was a reporter of the Press Association.
Following further representations, the Chairman has directed interim reporting restrictions apply to the application from the Metropolitan Police Service and to the closed session that was held this afternoon. The reporting restrictions apply not just to the media but all individuals.
