Module 6 hearings
This month, the Inquiry will hear evidence on the role of central government in establishing the legislative regime and formulating guidance on how to comply with it. The Inquiry will then move on to Module 4 which will examine the aftermath of the fire at Grenfell Tower.
A fact sheet on Module 6, which sets out in greater detail the structure and scope of the investigations, can be found here.
The provisional timetable for Phase 2 investigations can be found here.
Attendance at hearings
Last week, the government announced its plan to lift the remaining domestic Covid-19 restrictions.
While the Inquiry remains open to all members of the public who wish to attend hearings in person, we encourage all those attending to observe the safety measures that have been in place to date. This includes wearing face masks when inside the building, regularly making use of the hand sanitiser stations that are available, and choosing to follow the Inquiry remotely if you feel unwell.
The majority of legal representatives have been participating in the Inquiry remotely. We ask you to continue to do so, only attending by exception where it is absolutely necessary.
Easter break
The Inquiry will not be adjourning hearings for any of the half term breaks, although it plans to adjourn for one week in the Easter period. This is scheduled for w/c 18 April 2022.
Monthly community drop-in sessions
The next monthly drop-in session for BSRs and members of the public will be on Thursday 24 March from 16:30-17:30 at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, 13 Bishop’s Bridge Road, W2 6BU. These sessions are an opportunity for members of the local community to learn more about the Inquiry process and to ask any questions that they may have for members of the Inquiry team.
Further dates include:
- Thursday 28 April, 16:30-17:30, Grenfell Tower Inquiry.
As before, it is not necessary to book in advance to attend. We would ask all those attending to observe social distancing.
