All those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire and others with an interest are today invited to help shape the work of the public Inquiry into the fire.
The Chairman of the Inquiry, Sir Martin Moore-Bick, has launched a consultation into its terms of reference which will set out what the Inquiry will cover.
Anyone can submit written views online or in writing. The consultation document is available to download here:

The Inquiry wants to hear in particular from those affected by the fire, and will be holding a series of meetings with key groups. More details on these meetings will be made available in the next few days.
Sir Martin will consider all suggestions made to him when drawing up the terms of reference. He will then make a recommendation to the Prime Minister, who will take the final decision on the terms of reference.
Sir Martin Moore-Bick said:
“I am determined to establish the causes of the tragedy, and ensure that the appropriate lessons are learnt. To do this, the Inquiry will need to examine all relevant circumstances leading up to and surrounding the fire at Grenfell Tower, in order to understand its causes and prevent such a tragedy ever happening again.
“To produce a report as quickly as possible, with clear recommendations for action, I will listen to people and consider a broad range of evidence, including on the role of the relevant public authorities and contractors, in order to help me answer the important questions.”
“I therefore want to hear from people directly affected by the fire and others involved, to listen to their views on the shape of the Inquiry’s work and the questions we should be seeking to answer.”
All suggestions must be made to the Inquiry team by 5pm on 14 July 2017.
