Phase 2 closing statements
The Inquiry premises at 13 Bishop’s Bridge Road will reopen in the week commencing Monday 7 November for overarching closing statements for Phase 2. Closing statements will be heard over four days.
Appointment of a new Secretary
The Inquiry is pleased to announce that Matt Lewsey has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Inquiry. He will join the Inquiry as soon as possible. Matt is currently Head of Inquiries and Reviews at the Cabinet Office, where he has led on work to establish the UK Inquiry into Covid-19. Matt has extensive experience of working on both inquiries and reviews, having served as Secretary to the Hillsborough Independent Panel and Secretary to the Daniel Morgan Independent Panel. We look forward to welcoming him to the team.
Monthly community drop-in sessions
The next quarterly drop-in session for BSRs and members of the public will be held on Monday 31 October at 16:30-17:30, at the Notting Hill Methodist Church. The Inquiry will hold drop-in sessions every quarter for BSRs and the local community throughout the report writing stage. These sessions are also an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the Inquiry process and to ask any questions that they may have for members of the Inquiry team.
Disclosure figures
As at 26 October 2022, the Inquiry has disclosed 20,752 documents in Phase 1 and 299,433 documents in Phase 2, making a total of 320,185.

The total number of CPs is 646.
Support arrangements after hearings
Counselling support services continue to be available for anyone who wants to talk about their emotional wellbeing. The NHS Grenfell Outreach Team is available Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 20:00, and on Friday from 08:00 to 17:00. Their number is 0208 637 6279. More information, including out of hours contact numbers, can be found on the NHS website.
